Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour of your choice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 pack of yeast
  • 50 ml olive oil or other oil to taste
  • ½ cup sour cream or crème fraîche (approx. 180 g)
  • 265 ml water, lukewarm
  • 2 tbsp flour (heaped tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp salt (heaped)
  • some water for mixing
  • possibly grease for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Taste like they came fresh from the bakery. Makes about 6 pieces.

Mix the flour with the yeast. Add the salt, sugar, oil, and sour cream or crème fraîche. Gradually add the water and mix. Let it rise for a good half hour. Line a baking pan with baking paper or grease it with greaseproof paper and form the dough into long sticks (approx. 20 cm). Place them next to each other, but do not press them together too tightly. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for about 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C. In the meantime, prepare the brine. To do this, simply mix the 2 tablespoons of flour with the salt and add a little water until the liquid slides off the spoon. Bake the sticks for 5 minutes, remove them, drizzle with the brine, and then bake for another 10 minutes. The baking time may vary depending on the oven and the thickness of the sticks.
