Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 75 g margarine
  • 800 g flour
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 0.35 liters of milk, lukewarm
  • 40 g sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 handful of sesame seeds
  • some water for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 10 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 11 hours 15 minutes

First, melt the margarine in a small saucepan. Then remove the pan from the heat and let the margarine cool. Put the flour in a large bowl and add the sugar and salt. Mix the yeast with lukewarm milk and add the mixture. Separate one egg and pour the egg white into a small glass. Add the remaining eggs (2 egg yolks and 1 egg white) to the dough. Now you can add the margarine and knead everything into a dough. It’s best to let the yeast dough rise in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, you can form the dough into about 5 equal-sized balls and flatten them to a thickness of 1 cm. Then, cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise in the oven for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the egg white with a little water. Brush this mixture onto the rolls. Distribute the sesame seeds evenly over this moist layer. Then bake the XXL hamburger buns at 180°C (fan oven) for about 15 minutes. After baking, top the rolls as desired while still warm from the oven and eat.
