Sauce for Currywurst
The perfect sauce for currywurst recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Fresh onion
- 1 Apple Elstar
- 2 Tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 150 ml Instant broth
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 0,5 tsp Pimenton de la vera
- 1 Pr Cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp Peanut oil
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Yellow curry powder
- Cut the onion, tomatoes and apple into small cubes.
- Put the oil in a saucepan and heat.
- Add onion, tomato and apple cubes and let fry.
- Add the tomato paste and let it roast.
- Add the ketchup and deglaze with the hot stock. It is not worth making an extra broth for this amount, so I use the “good” instant broth 😉
- Add the salt, sugar, the smoked paprika and the cayenne and simmer gently. The sauce should reduce a bit.
- When the sauce has the desired consistency, remove it from the heat and add a tablespoon of curry powder and mix.
- I use the sauce for currywurst, but it also tastes cold and warm with grilled dishes
