Sausages in a blanket

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 Vienna sausages
  • 2 packs of puff pastry (refrigerated section)
  • e.g. spiced ketchup
  • e.g. mustard

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Unwrap the puff pastry, roll it out, and cut it into 8 pieces each, so that you end up with 16 even pieces. Carefully stretch each piece a little so that it’s a bit longer and thinner. Spread a thin layer of ketchup and mustard over the pastry, ensuring the edges are clean. Cut each sausage in half, place it on the pastry, and roll it up so that as little of the sausage as possible is showing. Place the sausages on a baking tray and make three or four small cuts across the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, until the puff pastry has risen and browned. I usually make a double batch, as they’re great eaten cold as a snack.
