Savory puff pastry strudel

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry
  • 2 bell peppers, red and green
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Emmental or sheep’s cheese)
  • 300 g minced meat
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • oregano
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Puff pastry with minced meat, peppers and cheese

Sauté the chopped onion and finely chopped bell peppers in a little oil. Add the minced meat, season with salt and pepper, and fry until crumbly. Let cool, then toss with the ketchup. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Spread the cooled mixture onto the puff pastry, spread with the cheese, and sprinkle with oregano and paprika. Fold over and brush the strudel with beaten egg. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown.
