Sicilian savoy cabbage

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 small savoy cabbage
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 400 ml vegetable stock
  • 3 tbsp sultanas
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seeds, roasted without fat

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Quarter the cabbage and cut each quarter into 6 wedges. Finely slice the onion and garlic. Lightly fry the savoy cabbage in oil. Be careful, it burns easily. Add the onion and garlic and fry briefly. Season with salt and pepper. Add the stock and sultanas, bring to a boil, cover the vegetables, and simmer over medium heat for 12 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for another 4 minutes. Season again and add a pinch of sugar. Sprinkle with the browned sunflower seeds. Mashed potatoes go very well with this dish.
