  • 200 g almonds
  • 400 g raisins

  • 3 large lemons, the juice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 150 g hazelnuts
  • 2 liters of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours

Moczka is actually a Silesian Christmas dish. That’s how my mother prepares it.

Soak the gingerbread in the water. Finely chop the almonds, hazelnuts, and prunes. Mix with the remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. The moczka can be eaten hot or cold. I’d rather not mention the calorie count. With 2 liters of water, it will thicken (as in the photo).
