Simple apple strudel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 pack of strudel sheets, frozen
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp walnuts, ground
  • 100 g butter for the crumbs
  • 80 g breadcrumbs
  • 50 g nuts, grated
  • 1,500 g apples, sour
  • 100 g sugar with
  • Mix 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 50 g raisins
  • 20 g cinnamon
  • 50 g butter for spreading

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Lightly toast the breadcrumbs and mix with the nuts. Peel the apples, cut them into wedges, remove the cores, and then cut them into large pieces. Melt the butter. Place the thawed sheet of dough on a floured tea towel (if using dry sheets from the refrigerated counter, the tea towel must be damp, otherwise the dough will break). Brush with melted butter. Place a second sheet of dough on top and brush with melted butter again. Sprinkle two-thirds of the dough with the ground walnuts. Spread the apples and raisins on top, then the breadcrumbs with the nuts and cinnamon, and finally the sugar and vanilla sugar. Fold in the sides, roll up the strudel, and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with melted butter. Bake at 180°C for about 35 minutes. Sprinkle the warm apple strudel with powdered sugar and serve warm or cold, as desired.
