Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 6 rolls, stale
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 shot of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

simple, vegetarian

Crush all the rolls. Mix the eggs, milk, flour, salt, and sugar into a smooth batter. If it’s too runny, just add a little more flour (about 0.5 tbsp). Then add the chopped roll pieces. Mix everything until a firm mixture forms. Then form round dumplings from the mixture. I get about 6-8 dumplings, depending on how large they are. The formed dumplings are placed in boiling water and then left in the hot water for at least 20 minutes. The water should not be allowed to boil while the dumplings are in it. It’s best to continue simmering on low heat. The dumplings are served with red cabbage and roast goose.
