How to skin tomatoes without spending a lot of time

  • Before you skin, the tomatoes, first turn the vegetables on the opposite side of the stalk. Scratch a cross about two to three centimeters in size into this side of the tomato.
  • After that, put hot water on, and once it boils, place the tomatoes – scored side first – in the pot.
  • Set a timer for 30 seconds and stand by the pot: 30 seconds go by very quickly. The tomatoes must not be left in the water much longer, otherwise, they will lose their firm consistency.
  • When the time is up, put the tomatoes in a colander and immediately run ice-cold water over them.
  • Finally, peel off the skin of the tomatoes. That’s easy now. The tomatoes are easy to peel from the incision.
