How to pronounce Skyr correctly
- The word “skyr” comes from Icelandic and is pronounced similar to “skier”. The “r” at the end of the word is particularly emphasized.
- The phonetic spelling of the term looks like this: “Skiːɐ̯”. So the ending sounds similar to “beer” or “here”, the “i” is short.
- It would be wrong to pronounce skyr like the word heaven in English, “Sky”.
