Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • 125 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 150 g margarine, soft
  • 1 portion of dough (Siegfried base)
  • 8 small sausages
  • 125 g cheese, grated
  • some cream, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sausages in pastry

Mix the flour with the baking powder. Add salt, paprika, and pepper. Stir in the quark, margarine, and Siegfried dough and knead everything thoroughly. If the dough is too sticky, let it rest in the refrigerator for a while. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and divide into 8 squares. Place a small sausage on each square and sprinkle with grated cheese. Fold the dough over itself, place seam-down on a baking sheet, and spread with cream. Bake for about 25 minutes at approximately 180°C (fan oven). The recipe for the Siegfried dough starter can be found in my recipes.
