Smokey's spicy melon salad

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g melon(s), peeled, only the flesh without peel and seeds
  • 250 g cucumber(s)
  • 1 small chili pepper(s), cut into fine rings
  • 1 lime(s), juice only
  • 20 cl vodka
  • 1 small red onion, cut into thin rings
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp peppercorns, pink, whole
  • ½ bunch basil, cut into strips

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Midsummer appetizer for adults

Wash the cucumber thoroughly, halve it lengthwise, remove the seeds, and cut into thin slices. Cut the melon into bite-sized cubes and mix well with the cucumber slices, onion rings, and chili in a bowl along with the lime juice, honey, vodka, and pink peppercorns. Finally, fold in the basil. Pour the melon salad into two attractive, ice-cold glasses or bowls and serve.
