Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g sour cherries, pitted
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2 to 1
  • 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), Bourbon
  • 2 cl rum, 54%

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Sour cherry jam with cinnamon and rum

Sprinkle the washed, sorted, and pitted cherries with cinnamon and the scraped vanilla seeds, drizzle with rum, and add the gelling sugar. Stir, add the scraped vanilla pod, and let it steep for one hour. Remove the pod and bring the mixture to a boil, simmer for 3-4 minutes, and immediately pour into boiled jars, seal, and place upside down on a wet cloth for one hour.
