Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 125 g butter, soft
- 40 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour, of which 150 g wholemeal flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 250 g sour cream
- 1 jar sour cherries
- 3 tsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp water
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 50 g almond flakes
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Fluffy waffles with creamy cherries and crunchy almonds
Cream the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and eggs until fluffy. Alternately stir in the flour mixed with baking powder and the sour cream. Let the batter rest briefly. Roast the almonds in a dry pan. Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. Reserve 300 ml. Chop the chocolate. Bring the cherry juice to a boil in a saucepan. Mix the cornstarch with water, add to the cherry juice, and cook for another minute. Then remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chocolate. Bake the waffles in a waffle iron and serve with the cherries and almonds.
