Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 all-spice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Melt the butter and sauté it with the flour. Add water and bring to a boil with the bay leaf and allspice berries. Season to taste with salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, and vinegar (it should be slightly acidic). Crack the eggs and add them to the sauce. The yolks should not break and should be completely covered with sauce. Bring to a boil briefly, turn off the heat, and let it simmer for a while. If you prefer hard-boiled eggs, let it simmer a little longer. Serve with potatoes.
