Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 100 g soy granules
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 handful of cocktail tomatoes
  • 1 jar of pickles
  • 1 liter vegetable broth
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp cheese substitute (yeast melt)
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. paprika powder
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Boil the soy granules with the vegetable stock, let stand for 10 minutes, drain the water, and squeeze out the granules. Add the oil to the pan and fry the soy granules. Then add the finely chopped onion and let it simmer until translucent. Fry the tomato paste and reduce the soy sauce. Deglaze with water or vegetable stock. Meanwhile, dice the deseeded bell pepper, the cherry tomatoes, and the gherkins and cook them. Now add the yeast mixture to thicken and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Best served over potatoes or pasta.
