Spaghetti with broccoli and Calabrese pesto

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300g spaghetti
  • 500 g broccoli
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 jar Pesto Calabrese, approx. 200 g
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 100 ml pasta water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, wash the broccoli and cut into small florets. Finely chop the onions, garlic cloves, and chili pepper. Add oil to a sufficiently large pan. Add the onions, garlic, and chili and fry until hot. Add the broccoli florets and fry briefly. In the meantime, drain the pasta and reserve 100 ml of the pasta water. Add the pasta water to the pan and bring to a boil briefly. Now add the pesto. Mix everything well and bring back to a boil. Add the pasta to the pan and mix everything together.
