Spicy Cabbage Potato Soup

The perfect spicy cabbage potato soup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Chopped onion
  • 150 g Diced Bacon
  • 1 little one White cabbage roughly diced
  • 5 Floury potatoes
  • 3 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 Half a tube of tomato paste
  • 2 T Sweet paprika powder
  • 2 liter Vegetable broth
  • Salt pepper
  • Whole caraway seeds
  • Chopped marjoram
  • 3 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 a cup Sour cream
  1. Fry the onion in hot oil, add the bacon cubes and sweat with them. Brown it well, add the cabbage, mix in the saucepan, add the chopped garlic, sauté everything a little, add the diced potatoes. Mix everything well and let it sweat for about five minutes. Tomato paste, the paprika powder, caraway seeds as desired, marjoram and everything with the broth. Add the vinegar, stir well, add salt and pepper. Bring to the boil briefly and simmer on half the flame for about 1 hour. Stir every now and then so that nothing can burn. The floury potatoes make the whole thing nice and creamy during the cooking process, so that does not have to be tied. After cooking, season again to taste and stir in the sour cream. Do not cook any more, otherwise the cream will flake.
