Spicy Turkey Legs

The perfect spicy turkey legs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 Turkey drumstick
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Clarified butter
  • 4 Carrots
  • 4 Onions
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Red wine
  • 1 Vegetable broth
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 6 Juniper berries
  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 Honey
  • 2 Chilli from the mill
  1. Wash the turkey legs, pat dry, season with salt and pepper and fry in hot clarified butter – remove and set aside.
  2. Peel the apples, carrots and onions, cut into slices and fry them in the gravy so that the aromas develop.
  3. Now deglaze the whole thing with the red wine – let it simmer a little, add the vegetable stock, bay leaf, juniper berries and cloves.
  4. The whole thing is now covered in the 180c. preheated oven for about 90 minutes – try if the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the legs, mix honey with some chilli, brush the legs with it and briefly place under the grill.
  6. In the meantime, pass the sauce through a sieve, season again if necessary and if you want you can thicken it a little – but this is not necessary.
  7. We ate potatoes and beans from our own cultivation with it – Bon appetit; 🙂
