Sponge Cakes As Smiley Balls for Joni

The history

1. Today, as so often, I’m back with my grandma (I like to call her “grandma spoon” because I can often cook with her). Omaaa I would like to bake with you today. My grandma naturally says – YES my jonibear (that’s what she calls me a lot) if you like, we’ll do it.
2. So I put on my apron and my chef’s hat. Omaaaaaa we can get started. I’ll take my stool and put it on the work surface.
3. Grandma prepares all the ingredients for me and turns the oven on. She says he has to warm up first. Ovens can’t work at all- Omaaaa- and Grandma says to me- but Jonibär – it has to run up to 180 degrees :).
4. Omaaaa when do you start? – now – Grandma fetched all the ingredients from all the cupboards and the refrigerator. Then she asked me which shapes I would like to take. I told her- The spherical shapes. OK- then you make the balls my darling- she said to me and I’m very happy- balls are great – because they fit into my mouth in one go.
5. I now give – Grandma is just watching – all the ingredients in the food processor. Then I turn it on and watch it become a great dough. Actually, I also like to do it with a wooden spoon – but Grandma wanted more dough – we made it and then it’s too difficult for me. I’ll get my portion of dough right away.
6. Now the dough for my balls is ready and I fill it into my ball shapes. Grandma tells me that I can only fill half of the dough with the lid and the balls grow up.
7. Omaaaaa- can I put all shapes in the oven? But of course, my jonibear – I’ll take care that you don’t get burned, says my grandma.
8. Then I sit in front of the oven and wait 1/4 hour. In between we unpack the sugar circles. They’ll come on my balls later. I’ll do it all by myself- Grandma- OK, she says – I’ll take care of your cocoa during the time.
9. Grandma – fills me a cup with delicious cocoa and gives me a plate with 5 Smiley`s ———– Bohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ———– that was a great grandma spoon day . And grandma also baked a lot of other small cakes. I was then allowed to put them all on cake platters.
