Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar mayonnaise (preferably Miracle Whip)
  • 1 jar carrot(s)
  • 1 jar celery
  • 3 gherkins
  • 2 apples
  • 4 eggs, hard-boiled
  • 5 jacket potatoes, cold
  • 250 g meat sausage

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

as a main course or for the party

Drain the carrots and celery thoroughly in a sieve and then chop them into smaller pieces if necessary. Cut the cucumbers, apples, cold boiled potatoes (or leftovers from the day before), and sausage into fairly small cubes (you want the ingredients to be easily recognizable). Pour the Miracle Whip into a bowl, stir in the chopped boiled eggs, and add all the other ingredients. Mix well and let it sit for a few hours. We like this salad as a main course on warm days with fresh baguette, but it has also been a great addition to numerous barbecues and other celebrations as a side dish.
