Squid Meets Mussels
The perfect squid meets mussels recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 kg Fresh mussels
- 600 g Squid fillet
- 2 St Onions
- 3 St Tomatoes
- 2 cm Ginger tuber
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 200 ml White wine dry
- 2 tsp Tabasco
- 0,5 liter Salt water
- Salt pepper
- 2 Toes Fresh garlic
- 1 bunch Spring onions fresh
- Cut onions into 1/4 rings xxx Cut tomatoes into slices xxx Grate ginger or cut into small sticks xxx Crush garlic or press through xxx Cut spring onions into rings
- Clean the mussels as usual, let them steep in boiling salted water with the wine for 5 minutes until the mussels are open (discard closed ones)
- Rinse the mussels
- Dice the squid fillet
- Sauté the onions xxx add the ginger, garlic and tomato paste xxx deglaze with clam sauce xxx season with Tabasco, salt and pepper xxx add the tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes
- Reduce the heat, add the mussels and squid and let it steep for about 5 minutes
- Serve with pasta or baguette
