Leek stewed in wine and honey
Trim and wash a large leek, then cut the white and light green parts into 3-5 pieces. Cut the tender, darker green parts into thin strips. Place everything in a pot and sauté with 200 ml of wine and 1 teaspoon of honey over low to medium heat until tender. Carefully lift the cooked, larger leek pieces from the pot and place them on a plate. Drain the finely chopped green parts and sprinkle them over the leek pieces. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Serve as a figure-friendly main course for one person, as a side dish for two servings, or as an appetizer for four people (simply cut the leek into four pieces). Bought leeks in a 1 kg package for a recipe and have another leek left over? Then this is the ideal recipe for that one leftover leek! Great for a student budget (under 50 cents if you’re not picky about wine), WWW-compatible, quick, and easy.
