Steamed white cabbage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g white cabbage, cut into strips
  • 1 large onion(s), cut into fine strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 green chili peppers (whole or pitted)
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • 3 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

South Indian dish

Heat the oil in a large pot and fry the onions, ginger, and garlic until golden brown. Add the turmeric and salt, fry briefly, then add the cabbage and chilies and mix well. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Once the cabbage is tender, add the coconut flakes and continue cooking briefly until almost all of the liquid has evaporated.
