Sticky Chicken Wings

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 9 chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp sambal oelek
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • n. B. Pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes

Place the chicken wings in a bowl. Press the garlic into the bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything. Let the wings marinate for about 30-60 minutes. Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the chicken wings on it. Bake in the hot oven for 40 minutes. For the sauce, combine the remaining marinade with 2 tablespoons of water in a small pan and simmer until slightly thickened. Serve the wings with the sauce. Serve with rice and side dishes such as bok choy, broccoli, cucumbers, and carrots. Tip: Alternatively, you can grill the wings instead of baking them. Note from the chef’s recipe editor: If you don’t want to use aluminum foil, use parchment paper or baking paper. If you use lemon juice and salt, etc., this is recommended for health reasons.
