Strawberries with blueberry vinegar

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g strawberries, fresh
  • 20 g berries, pink
  • 10 ml Balsamic vinegar, (Condimento Balsamic vinegar al Mirtillo)

Wash the strawberries and remove the green parts. Halve or quarter them, depending on their size. Crush the pink peppercorns in a mortar and pestle and sprinkle them over the cut surface of the strawberries. Drizzle with the mirtillo balsamic vinegar. Let it sit for half an hour. Serve on small plates as an appetizer or dessert. We used the Condimento Balsamico Al Mirtillo from La Novella in the Maremma. The fruity tones harmonize beautifully with the strawberries and pink peppercorns. We’ve had the bottle in our cellar for four years, and the vinegar keeps getting better. A good rosé wine goes well with this.
