easy to make, nice and moist, from a 26 cm springform pan
For the pastry, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time. Then stir in the melted chocolate. Mix the flour and baking powder and fold in. Pour the batter into a greased springform pan (26 cm diameter) and level the surface. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes. Let cool. For the topping, make a pudding from the milk, vanilla pudding powder, and sugar according to the package instructions. Soak the gelatin leaves in cold water. Transfer the pudding, while still hot, to a mixing bowl. Squeeze out the soaked gelatin well and add to the pudding. Stir in well until completely dissolved. Then let the pudding cool – but it shouldn’t become completely solid! Stir occasionally! Once the pudding has cooled, add the ricotta and advocaat and stir in. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold in. Place the cooled cake base on a cake plate and place a cake ring around it. Spread the strawberry jam over the cake base. Halve the strawberries and spread them evenly over the base. Then pour the vanilla cream over the top and spread it evenly. Refrigerate the cake for about 2 hours. For the eggnog coating, soak the gelatin leaves in cold water. Dissolve it according to the package instructions and stir it into the eggnog. Spread it evenly over the cake and sprinkle with the chocolate shavings. Refrigerate the cake for several hours (preferably overnight). After that, remove the cake ring.
