Ingredients for 7 servings:

  • 500 g low-fat quark (cottage cheese)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 40 g semolina
  • 40 g flour, non-stick
  • Flour for rolling
  • pinch(s) of salt
  • Pinch(s) of sugar
  • strawberries
  • crumbs
  • butter
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dessert or sweet main course

Mix the curd cheese with egg, semolina, flour, a little salt, and a pinch of sugar, and let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes. Then flatten about 1 tablespoon of dough at a time, wrap each strawberry in it, form dumplings, and roll them in flour. Let them simmer in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, lightly toast the breadcrumbs and powdered sugar in butter. Toss the cooked dumplings in the flour. Serve with a strawberry sauce made from pureed berries, if desired.
