with homemade date chutney

For the chutney, place all ingredients in a non-stick pan. Stir occasionally, briefly over high heat, then reduce to medium to low heat for about 10-15 minutes. Simmer with the lid closed. Mix the yogurt and mayonnaise in a small bowl. Grill the sucuk patties in a ridged sandwich toaster for about 5-6 minutes or on a charcoal grill for a few minutes on each side. Halve the burger buns and add them briefly to warm them. Spread the bottom half of the bun with some of the yogurt-mayo mixture, place a lettuce leaf and a sucuk patty on top, add a full teaspoon of chutney and 1-2 tomato slices, top with the top half of the bun, and serve immediately. Tip: If you don’t like date chutney or don’t have time to make it, substitute it with a slice of kasar cheese.
