Sunflower patties

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 medium onions
  • 130 g sunflower seeds
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 handful of white bread, diced, stale
  • 1 red bell pepper(s), diced
  • Garlic
  • marjoram
  • Vegetable broth, granulated
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Dice the onions and fry them in 2 tablespoons of oil. Roughly chop the sunflower seeds in a blender and fry them. Season with salt, vegetable stock, pepper, and marjoram. Pour in 500 ml of water and bring to a boil. Place everything in a bowl; stir in the bread cubes, garlic, parsley, and bell pepper pieces and let stand for about 15 minutes. Cover with breadcrumbs until easily formed into cakes. Fry in hot oil until crispy brown. Serve hot or cold.
