  • 4 chocolate eggs (surprise eggs)
  • 40 g biscuits (amaretti biscuits)
  • 50 g chocolate, dark or semi-sweet
  • 50 g chocolate, whole milk
  • 200 g whipped cream
  • 1 large orange(s)
  • 8 biscuits (Amarettini)
  • chocolate rolls

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 4 hours 30 minutes

with chocolate cream

Makes 8 egg halves. Heat the cream in a saucepan (DO NOT boil!!). Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it slowly in the cream, stirring constantly. Transfer to a mixing bowl and leave to cool for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. Halve the orange and squeeze out the juice. Remove the foil from the Kinder Surprise eggs and carefully halve them. Roughly chop the amaretti biscuits, drizzle with the orange juice, and divide between the egg halves. Now beat the well-chilled chocolate cream until stiff peaks form using the whisk attachment of a hand mixer. Transfer the cream to a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle and pipe it onto the amaretti crumbs in the egg halves. Decorate each egg half with an amaretti biscuit, sugar pearls or sprinkles, and a few chocolate curls. TIP: It looks very decorative if you dust the filled egg halves with a little powdered sugar before serving.
