Swede "fries"

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 turnip(s) (approx. 1 kg)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seed oil or walnut oil
  • n. B. Herbs of your choice (e.g. wild garlic, parsley)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

low carb and WW-suitable

Peel the swede and cut it into sticks. Pour the oil into a freezer bag and add the herbs. Add enough swede sticks to the bag so that you can still easily twist the top. Now “massage” the bag until all the sticks are evenly coated with oil and herbs. Repeat the process with the remaining sticks if necessary. Spread everything on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, sprinkle with salt and pepper (use extra salt – the swede “swallows” a lot), and bake at 180°C fan-assisted oven for about 30 minutes, until the sticks are nicely browned. In the picture, there are a few kohlrabi sticks in between – I do the same with these, and the mixture is particularly delicious!
