Sweet and sour leek salad

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 stalk(s) leek
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp, leveled sambal oelek
  • 1 tbsp oil, neutral (e.g. rapeseed oil)

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 15 minutes

Trim and wash the leeks, then cut them into 0.5 cm rings. Blanch them briefly in water, rinse with cold water, and place them in a bowl. Heat the oil in a pan and add all the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil until it foams and the sugar dissolves. Immediately pour over the leeks. Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate overnight.
