Sweet-and-sour Pork

The perfect sweet-and-sour pork recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 gr Pork neck streaked
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Szechuan pepper
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • Fat for frying
  • 2 tbsp Peanut oil
  • 1 bunch Spring onions
  • 1 Red peppers
  • 1 Green peppers
  • 2 Discs Pineapple
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Chutney
  • 1 Cup Orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Starch to thicken
  • Salt
  1. Cut the meat into 2cm cubes
  2. Beat the egg and mix with the meat. Sprinkle the meat with cornstarch. And let it steep for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. – Cut the peppers into diamond-shaped pieces.
  4. – Cut the spring onions into 1cm long pieces
  5. – Cut the pineapple into small pieces.
  6. – Mix together the tomato paste, soy sauce, vinegar and the chutney and set aside.
  7. Heat the peanut oil in a wok and sear the meat. Add the vegetables and fry for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  8. Add the pineapple, tomato paste, soy sauce, vinegar and chutney. Mix the orange juice with the starch and add. season the whole thing with salt
