Sweet and sour pumpkin sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g pumpkin flesh, e.g. Hokkaido, pitted and diced
  • 150 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 90 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cumin

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

with grilled meat and cheese

Boil the pumpkin in a little salted water for about 20 minutes. Drain the water and puree the pumpkin cubes. Then simmer all the other ingredients with the pumpkin for another 15-20 minutes. Pour the sauce into boiled jars, immediately screw them shut, and turn them upside down for about 10 minutes. Then turn them upside down and let them cool. The sauce tastes great with grilled meat, pan-fried dishes, or cheese.
