Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs

The perfect sweet and sour spare ribs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Spare ribs

  • 1 kilogram Lean pork ribs
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 piece Ginger root, finely chopped
  • 1 piece Clove of garlic, finely chopped

sauce

  • 4 tablespoon Honey
  • 4 tablespoon Malt vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 150 g Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 shot Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Toes Clove of garlic, finely chopped

for garnish

  • Spring onions fresh, cut
  1. Mix the ingredients into the sauce. Cover and put aside.
  2. Divide the ribs into 5 cm long pieces and sprinkle with salt. Heat the oil in a wok or a deep frying pan. Add ginger and garlic and fry for 1 minute. Add the ribs and brown quickly. Reduce heat and stew for 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the sauce over the ribs, turn until they are coated with the liquid. Simmer in a covered wok for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve with Mie noodles fried in sesame oil. Arrange on a preheated serving platter. Serve immediately garnished with spring onions.
