Milk caramel from Argentina

Place the can (closed!) in the pressure cooker with two fingers of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 45 minutes. Allow the can to cool completely before opening. Transfer the dulce de leche to a jam jar. In Argentina, dulce de leche is eaten as a spread on toast, bread, waffles, crackers, cookies, muffins, crêpes (pancakes), or as a filling for cakes and pastries, or in flan (egg-based desserts), puddings, and ice cream.
