Sweet millet, apple and cranberry casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 120 g sugar (raw or brown sugar)
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 50 g wholemeal flour
  • 50 g wheat flour type 550
  • 500 g quark
  • 50 g millet, finely ground
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 small apples
  • 4 tbsp cranberries, dried
  • n. B. Powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with quark

Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Cream the butter until fluffy, then add the egg yolks and continue beating until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar. Stir in the quark, vanilla sugar, flour, and millet along with the milk. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites. Wash, core, and dice the apples. Mix the apple pieces and cranberries together and place in the buttered dish or ramekins. Pour the mixture on top and bake. In small brûlée dishes (1/2 portion), it takes about 20 minutes; otherwise, depending on the height of the dish, about 30-40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
