Sweet tofu with broccoli

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400g tofu
  • ½ head of broccoli
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 50 ml water
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 4 hours 35 minutes

Halve the tofu lengthwise to create 4 equal, flat slices. Score each side crosswise. Wrap each slice with kitchen paper and press out any excess water with the palm of your hand. To make the marinade, mix together honey, sesame oil, fish sauce, and soy sauce. Add the tofu slices and marinate for at least 4 hours. Overnight is even better. Separate small florets from the broccoli. Heat the oil in a wok and sear the tofu individually for about 1 minute on each side, then keep warm. Add the broccoli to the wok with 50 ml of water and the remaining marinade. Mix well, cover, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until al dente. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with the tofu.
