Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes
Egg white cake
Grease a heart-shaped baking pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Melt the butter on the stovetop and let it cool slightly. Beat the eggs and sugar on high speed until very fluffy. Stir in the flour and cornstarch mixture. Also add the melted butter. Finally, add the baking powder and quickly pour the batter into the baking pan so it doesn’t collapse. Bake for 30-40 minutes at approximately 170°C using top/bottom heat. After about 20 minutes, cover with aluminum foil to prevent the cake from overcooking. Melt the chocolate coating and spread it over the finished cake. Let it cool, otherwise the wine gums will run. Finally, roll out the marzipan and cut out heart-shaped cookies using Christmas cookie cutters. Finally, stick the wine gums on with icing, if desired, and spread them around the cake. Variation: Use a jar of drained cherries or other flavorings, such as lemon or vanilla sugar.
