Tahina Paste

The perfect tahina paste recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Cup Sesame fresh
  • 1 tsp Sea-Salt
  • 1 shot Lime juice
  • 10 g Peanut oil
  1. Roast the sesame in a non-stick pan until it smells fragrant. Put in a blender or if you have added salt, lime juice and a good dash of peanut oil to the Thermomix®, mix at the highest level to a paste, possibly add oil. Fill into a screw jar and store in the refrigerator. For Thermomix® owners, mix everything together for 20 seconds / in ascending order up to 10, slide the spatula downwards for another 20 seconds / purée at level 10. Tahina paste is suitable as a spread or to refine oriental but also Asian dishes in cakes, it can also be used as a butter substitute.
