Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 m.-sized potatoes
- 4 carrots
- 3 onions
- 1 stalk(s) leek
- 4 eggs
- 4 tbsp oat flakes
- 500 g mushrooms
- 200 ml sweet cream
- 1 lemon(s) , (juice)
- butter
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder
- curry powder
- nutmeg
- Garlic
- chili
- Madeira
- Oil, for frying
- Cheese, for gratinating

For the vegetable burgers: Finely grate the potatoes, carrots, and 2 onions. Quarter the leek lengthwise and cut into small pieces. Add the eggs and oats and season with pepper, salt, nutmeg, and garlic. Heat the oil in a pan and use a tablespoon to form vegetable burgers, frying them until golden brown on both sides. 2 minutes before the end of the cooking time, place the cheese on the burgers and let it melt for a few minutes with the lid closed. For the sauce: Sauté 1 onion in hot butter until translucent, add the mushrooms, salt, pepper, curry powder, and paprika, and fry for 10 minutes. Add the cream and Madeira and reduce the heat for another 10 minutes. Add the lemon juice. Arrange the vegetable burgers with the mushroom cream sauce on a plate and serve hot.
