Red fruits can reduce the risk of developing cancer, the expert noted. Nutritionist Svitlana Fus said that vegetables, fruits, and berries of different colors protect the body from various problems. The properties of vegetables, fruits, and berries depending on the substances they contain.

Blue and purple vegetables, fruits, and berries contain anthocyanins, red ones – lycopene, yellow or orange ones – beta-carotene, brown or white ones – allicin, and green ones – chlorophyll, the expert wrote on Instagram.

Fuss also explained what problems vegetables, fruits, and berries of different colors can protect against.

Benefits of vegetables, fruits, and berries of different colors:

  • Thanks to green, the risk of cancer is reduced, and cellular respiration becomes more active;
  • Brown or white ones have antibacterial properties, reduce the risk of heart and vascular diseases, and improve memory;
  • Yellow or orange improves eye health and strengthen the immune system;
  • Red ones reduce the risk of cancer and protect the heart;
  • Blue or purple normalizes cholesterol and blood pressure, reduces the risk of stomach cancer and heart disease.

Earlier, Svitlana Fus shared that a person needs 400 g of vegetables and 200 g of fruit per day. It is not recommended to eat more than 400 g of berries during the day, as diarrhea or allergies can occur.
