The Five Most Ridiculous Diets are Named

Enjoy the food you love and think about healthy foods that you can add to your diet, advised Lisa Young, a US nutritionist.

If you want to lose weight, you need to completely change your diet and introduce healthy habits, not a diet. This opinion was voiced by American nutritionist Lisa Young to She Finds and named five unnecessary diets that are very popular now.

Keto diet

This diet has been a hit over the past few years among people who want to lose extra pounds. On this diet, it is recommended to eat foods high in fat, while almost all foods high in carbohydrates – fruits, vegetables, cereals, flour, chocolate, and alcohol – should be excluded.

Lisa Young noted that the keto diet only works when you stick to it. But as soon as you return to a normal diet, all the pounds come back the same way.

Plus, staying on this diet for a long time leads to muscle loss, which causes stress in the body. Another serious disadvantage of the keto diet is that the intestines suffer from a lack of fiber and dietary fiber.

Intermittent fasting

The principle of intermittent fasting is that you can eat, for example, from 8 am to 4 pm, but then drink only water. Over time, the fasting interval can increase, and the time can shift. Such restrictions are very difficult to follow, says Young.

Plus, the body sometimes doesn’t understand why it is being starved and begins to store fat.

Raw food diet

This type of diet involves eating foods that stimulate the production of sirtuins, a group of proteins that are produced only by the body itself and are involved in vital metabolic processes.

What you can eat on the sirt-food diet: strawberries, parsley, apples, green salad, buckwheat, turmeric, walnuts, some fish and chicken, and even allow yourself 20 g of chocolate per day.

It is believed that such a diet slows down the aging process and speeds up metabolism. However, nutritionists believe that such a diet is a real test for the body, as some days you need to limit yourself to 1000 kcal.

Yang noted that a sirt-food diet can easily lead to a breakdown – in this case, you will eat extra pounds after the diet in reserve.

Optavia power system

This trendy diet involves eating 6 meals a day in very small portions. You can eat lean protein and vegetables, as well as protein shakes, soups, and bars.

In this case, the following scheme works: extreme weight loss is harmful to health, said Young.

Whole30 nutrition system

With this diet system, you need to give up sugar and alcohol, cereals, legumes, beans (except green peas), dairy products, fast food, and baked goods.

This diet is very strict and will also lead to breakdowns and deficiencies of necessary substances. “I prefer a positive approach to lose weight. Enjoy the foods you love and think about healthy foods you can add to your diet,” advised Lisa Young.
