The Nutritionist Explained What Will Happen to the Body if You Give up Meat

According to nutritionist Olga Chuntova, those people who have given up meat should never drink too much coffee and tea on a regular basis.

Complete and immediate exclusion of meat from the diet can lead to health problems.

She noted that when you give up animal protein, important elements stop getting into the body: for example, vitamins D, and B12, which increase the risk of stroke, as well as omega-3 fatty acids, creatine, cholesterol, iodine, phosphorus, and calcium.

“All this leads to hormonal disorders. Hair, nails, bones, and reproductive function are affected. Excluding animal protein increases the risk of developing anemia. When excluding animal products from the diet, vegetable protein cannot replace animal protein either in terms of amino acid composition or digestibility,” she said.

Chuntova noted that those who have given up meat, people should not drink too much coffee and tea. Both drinks can interfere with iron absorption. To normalize this process, the nutritionist says, it is necessary to consume foods containing ascorbic acid.
