Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, thumb-sized
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika powder
  • 2 tsp spice mix (Garam Masala)
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp oil (peanut oil)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 chili peppers, remove seeds if necessary
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves, fresh
  • 1 tbsp desiccated coconut, dried
  • 2 tbsp almonds, ground
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

for marinating and seasoning tandoori dishes

First, peel the garlic and ginger. Then, heat a pan over medium heat. Roast the cumin and coriander seeds in it without any fat for a few minutes. When they are golden brown and fragrant, remove the pan from the heat. Crush the roasted spices either finely in a mortar and pestle or grind them into a fine powder in a food processor. Finally, process them with all the other ingredients in a food processor until a smooth paste forms.
