Tomato Ciabatta Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ciabatta
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 375 g mozzarella
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 50 g Parmesan
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 150 g ham, cooked, in thin slices
  • 1 pack of chopped tomatoes (370 g)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the ciabatta into slices and brush or drizzle with oil on each side. Place on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Turn once halfway through. Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes. Finely grate the Parmesan cheese. Halve the garlic, rub it all over the baking dish, and then grease it. Place half of the tomatoes in the dish. Season well with salt, pepper, and herbs. Layer half of the ham, mozzarella, chopped tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese on top. Season and place half of the bread slices on top. Layer the remaining ingredients and season well. Finish with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake the casserole in the hot oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
