Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g tomatoes
- 40 g rice
- 1 onion(s)
- e.g. basil, fresh
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 pinch of salt
- pepper
- oregano
- Sugar
- 1 tsp olive oil

Cook the rice in salted water as usual, following the package instructions. Peel and dice the onion, then fry it in a little hot olive oil until translucent. Dice the tomatoes and add them to the onions. Season everything with a pinch of salt, some pepper (preferably freshly ground), and oregano. Add a pinch of sugar and deglaze the tomatoes with a little of the rice cooking water. Now add the tomato paste to thicken it. Once the rice is cooked, add it to the tomatoes—along with a little more of the cooking water. Finely chop the basil and add it now. Let everything simmer briefly and serve.
