Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tomatoes (vine tomatoes)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 400 g tomatoes, pureed (can)
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup rice
  • salt and pepper
  • ½ bunch chives or garlic chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely dice the onion and garlic clove. Heat together with the passata, chili sauce, and water in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes in a covered pan. Chop the tomatoes and add them to the pan along with the rice. Let them simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Season with salt and pepper and stir in finely chopped garlic chives. This makes a delicious side dish for fish and grilled meat.
